I wouldn't pay any attention to this generation stuff. The models with a "T" in the model name are from 2020. Here is a comparison of the 20 and 21 models: https://www.tvfindr.com/de/frame-vs-frame/

Had the same problem! Enclosed is the reply from Samsung. Good day Thank you for contacting SAMSUNG Electronics Switzerland. My name is Christoph Jung and I will be happy to assist you regarding your feedback. Under the following link you will find all compatible frames for the 32" variant of our "The Frame": https://www.samsung.com/ch/tv-accessories/customizable-frame-vg-scft32-vg-scft32wt-xc/ All frames, however, are compatible with the 2020 and 2021 version of the 32" The Frame. Don't hesitate to write to me if you have any further questions - I'm always here for you. Take care and stay healthy! Kind regards from Zurich Christoph Jung Samsung Electronics Switzerland GmbH

Hello Gallus077 again. The story has not left me alone. I have found an adapter: https://www.hood.de/i/monlines-v071-vesa-adapter-fuer-samsung-frame-32-zoll-94039477.htm . This and a table stand like this one, for example: myWall HP2BL (Universal, 55 ", 40 kg) would solve the problem.
