Polymer-coated brake cables (BC-9000) should only be used in combination with the brakes from the BR-9000/6800/5800/RS500/R9100/R8000 series. Using them with other combinations may result in insufficient grip of the brake cable, which can lead to the cable loosening and loss of control over the brake.
