Well, I've never switched off my mobile phone during a stream. But you can definitely switch off the screen - or let the film run on a PC. (Requires GoogleChrome) If several devices have access to the Chromecast, it can be operated with all of them (even simultaneously).

That's what I thought would happen. I should have mentioned explicitly that I was looking for a field report and not an Internet reference. I think we both know that the theoretical information from UPC *laughs* differs a little from practice from time to time. Believe it or not, I had a coffee with Mr. Google this morning.

Chromecast outputs the sound via HDMI, i.e. directly to the beamer. You must now connect your sound system to the beamer. Or connect a home cinema system between the Chromecast and the beamer. From my point of view, sound output via an external device (app) is not possible. With Sonos, this would mean that you need the Sonos Playbase!

I don't think this is possible - as iTunes doesn't have a "cast" function (but AirPlay does). Why not just use the Sonos app? With it, you can access the local iTunes library on your iPhone and stream directly to the soundbar (the TV doesn't even have to be on). Alternatively (if you also want picture/video or even screen sharing) buy an Apple TV ;-)

For information: Basically, nothing can be installed on the Chromecast itself. For example, it can be streamed from a computer, tablet or smartphone with the corresponding app. Enclosed are instructions for KODI on Chromecast: http://www.alphr.com/google/google-chromecast/1002065/how-to-install-kodi-on-a-chromecast-heres-how-to-stream-kodi-with

Yes, with Chrome you can display your desktop on the TV "out of the box". However, I have not tested it myself and cannot tell you how reliable and smooth the transmission is. https://www.howtogeek.com/199565/mirror-anything-from-your-computer-to-your-tv-using-google-chromecast/
