This was the idea behind the development of the AutoClose valve for the new BBB water bottles. Just grab the bottle and drink. The AutoClose valve works similar to the valve on the hydration packs. It lets the water run as soon as you suck on it and is always ready for another sip. Nevertheless, no drops splash out of the bottle during the ride and do not disfigure the bike.
