For commercial buildings, offices, medical practices, schools, and large apartment buildings, the entrance door is permanently unlocked automatically at certain times during the day, enabling visitors to come and go as they wish. The system is controlled by a timer switch. The electric strike is permanently unlocked by a continuous current at the times set on the timer switch (DC operation, electric strike makes no buzzing sound). Outside these set times, the electric strike operates normally, i.e., the electric strike is released via the electric strike button in the apartment (AC operation, electric strike makes no buzzing sound).

A complete system consists of the following individual components: electric strike, switchover device, timer, transformer rectifier, electric strike button.

Electric strike: Always use electric strikes with 100% duty cycle. For example, Model 118---------A71 (12V 100% duty cycle) or 118---------B71 (24V 100% duty cycle).
